Warpath Universe: Forge Fathers

Dwarfs in space. I really like the Forge Father faction from Deadzone by Mantic Games. The Brokkrs and half the Steel Warrior heads have a particular cool Squat vibe going on.

These models were actaully the first I did with the Army Painter method. But they needed some touch ups, that I only did recently.

It's hard to capture in the photos, but all green areas are painted in fluorescent green. Looks really cool, instant lightning effect.

Bjarn Starnafall and Forge Guard Huscarl
Bjarn Starnafall is a special leader from the Infestation campaign, who can also work as a Merc. The other is a Huscarl in Forge Guard armor. For all my leaders I added gold on their armor, as it seems to be a dwarven thing to do. Also all leaders have the same black symbol somewhere. A ^ with three dots added.

Leaders
A steel warrior Huscarl, an old metal Warpath huscarl and a Chief Brokkr. Lovely models all of them, though I do think the steel warrior has a bit skinny legs.

The metal Huscarl from Warpath is the one I'll properly use most. He doesn't have specific rules, so will count as a Steel Warrior Huscarl. The Chief Brokkr is one of my favourite models - really full of character.

Notive the all have the angle and three dots symbol as well as gold details.

Merc: Freya
An engineer mercenary for Forge Fathers. A lovely little model, looking super cool in her bomber jacket. And I like that there's a female dwarf in the game, not too many of those around the hobby.

Merc: The Helfather
A dwarf in camouflage - he's added extra feet to his armor. It's a fun little twist. Not much written fluff on the character though.

Steel Warriors
Troops and specialist. Half the heads on the Steel Warrior sprue are super ugly - looks like cartoon babies. But there's some nice old school heads, really squat like. So I've gone for those. Still lots of options to build. I've gone for two Hailstorm Rifles (troopers) and a Rocket Launcher and Flamethrower (specialists). The troopers all have a single angle ^. Specialists have an ^ and a single dot.

Forge Guard
Elite guys in very heavy armor. I've added some battle damage to these guys in form of bullet holes and claw/melee marks. All of these guys count as specialists. Two of them are extra special with heavy weapons.

Brokkrs and Mining Laser
Old resin models. These guys are super cool - such a nice look to them. I converted a single brokkr to carry a hailstorm rifle instead of hammer and pistol. Now it's changed in the rules. But earlier the brokkrs had to pay points for the hammer and weren't that good in melee. So this was a nice conversion - don't think he'll see action in the updated rules.

Brokkr Engineer and Bomb Bots
Not sure this model is actually thought as an engineer, but the auspex device made him stand out.
I've added a backpack from the Steel Warrior sprue. Then I sculpted a servo arm with greenstuff and added part of a 40k chainsword. I really like this model!

The Bomb Bots were in my bit box. I got them in a trade once, but I have no idea were thery are from. Excellent bomb bots though.
Brokrr Bike and NPC
An alternative Brokkr Bike and a NPC. Full blogpost here.

Full Strike Team
September 2017. My complete strike team in September 2017. Still need to build: Ingulf and war dog, Militia Troops, a Brokkr Bike and three more special weapons for the Steel Warriors.
